Visitors are lucky to see wolves in the wild in Yellowstone, even thought there are several packs. Every trip I have been on to the park has had wolf hunting prioritized, but I have yet to get close enough to photograph many of the wolves I have seen. And then I talk to people who tell of having casually watched a pack take down a large Elk. And then they show me the photos they took with their cell phones! Right place, right time. Somehow a little like a lotterry. But right outside the West entrance to the park, in West Yellowstone, is the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. It is a bit like a zoo,or an animal shelter. Visitors can get very close to these wild animals that were rescued from one predicament or another. The ravens are only there to steal food.
