There are no fences in Yellowstone National Park .... I don't think? I don't remember ever seeing one .... but maybe somewhere? The animals and visitors roam freely over the same ground. So freely that I am surprised there are not a lot more stories about some major conflict between a resident and a visitor. A lot of visitors treat the park like a petting zoo, and most residents are not the touchy-feely types. Yet, the up-close-and-personal aura continues to be a major draw.
