Killdeer-Charadrius vociferus0511
Killdeer were the very first birds I spent a lot of time with when I started investigating wildlife photography. That's because I was lazy. There were a fair number of Killdeer living on the golf course where I lived, and they nested on the ground and were easy to get photos of. And, to make it easier, the grounds crew of the golf course put little flags by nests they found so they wouldn't accidentally wreck one.
