I really like monochrome images!! They were the very core of photography at the beginning of the image capturing revolution. Black and white images were dominant for about 100 years before color became mainstream. Kodachrome was introduced in 1935, but color movies movies did not become the standard until the 1960s. It wasn't until the 70's that color prints became reasonably affordable for amateurs. I was already im my "30.s" by that time.
I still feel that monochrome images own the right to be called "classic", and still dominate the fine art photography field. Many monochrome images hang on the walls of our home.
"Monochrome" is not limited to "black and white". Monochrome really means "white and shades of only one other color". Sepia Tone images, white with shades of Sepia (brown), were very common during the early part of the 1900s, and you will see examples of Sepia Tone in this collection.
