International Acceptances

INTERNATIONAL ACCEPTANCES

Photographers from all over the world enter International Exhibitions in an effort to earn "Recognition Of Photographic Achievement" ratings by beating out other photographers to earn points called "acceptances". When an International Exhibition is offered (there are hundreds every year) anyone on earth may enter. All entries are professionally judged and only the top 25% to 35% of images are "Accepted" into the exhibition. So, an image must be judged as better than 65 to 75% of all images entered to earn an acceptance point. The Photographic Society of America (PSA) is the only organization in the United States permitted to sanction International Exhibitions. There are only three other organizations in the world that are also permitted to sanction International Exhibitions. A photographer attempting to earn a "Recognition Of Photographic Achievement" rating must amass a number of "Acceptances" in specific categories of exhibitions. To earn the lowest level rating requires a minimum of 288 acceptances, the top level requires 11,000 acceptances. Not an easy task.

I did not become aware of International Exhibitions until 2015 when I assisted The Peregrine Fund to create "Raptors At Risk: A Photographic Exhibition For Conserving Birds Of Prey Worldwide". It is obvious that at this stage of my life I probably will not have the time, or resources, to pursue a "Recognition Of Photographic Achievement", but I entered some exhibitions just to see how I would do. Below is the list of exhibitions entered and all the images that earned acceptances. The most recent acceptances are presented first. Several images have been entered in more than one exhibition and may have earned acceptances in more than one.
